The Florida Department of Health reported 74 new COVID-19 cases and 10 newly recorded deaths Wednesday.

The total number of cases on the Treasure Coast increased to 15,811. The cumulative death toll increased to 524. Six deaths were reported in Martin County and two each were reported in Indian River and St. Lucie counties.

Health officials have said the virus is not necessarily the cause of death, but they record people who at some point tested positive for the virus and later die.
