PORT ST. LUCIE — A 9-year-old boy was hit by a van late Wednesday afternoon.
Port St. Lucie Police and St. Lucie County Fire Rescue responded at about 4:45 p.m. to the 3100 block of S.W. Savona Boulevard..
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 9-year-old boy was walking home with his older brother on the sidewalk along S.W. Savona Boulevard.
The 9-year-old boy ran across S.W. Savona Boulevard and was struck by a 2008 Dodge Sprinter Van traveling North on the boulevard.
The boy was taken to a local hospital by St. Lucie County Fire Rescue with significant injuries.
This case has been assigned to Traffic Homicide Investigations. No further information is available at this time.
