Pedestrian critically injured in Fort Pierce crash

FORT PIERCE — A man was critically injured Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Orange Avenue, a Fort Pierce police spokesperson said.
The incident happened about 4:50 a.m. in the 300 block of Orange Avenue, said Mike Jachles, police spokesperson.

The pedestrian, a man, was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce in critical condition, Jachles said.
The driver of the vehicle also was taken to the hospital.
No other information was immediately available.
