Fire damages central St. Lucie County home Saturday morning

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A Saturday morning fire damaged a home while the residents were away, according to the St. Lucie County Fire District. 

The blaze happened in the 3400 block of Southern Pines Drive about 6:50 a.m. The fire does not appear to be suspicious.

The home is south of Edwards Road and west of Oleander Avenue. 

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the two residents and their pet
