COVID-19 in Collier County: State reports 72 new cases, no new deaths

The Florida Department of Health reported 72 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths in Collier County on Sunday.

That brings Collier's cumulative case total to 9,734, 10th highest among Florida counties. Its total COVID-19-related deaths remains at 124.

A 104-year-old person tested positive, surpassing 101-years-old as the most elderly case in the county.

A total of 672 people in Collier County have been hospitalized for COVID-19 as of Sunday, according to the report. That number does not reflect the people currently in the hospital, according to the Florida Department of Health. 

As of Sunday morning, Collier County hospitals cared for 127 COVID-19 patients, according to data from Florida's Agency for Healthcare Administration. The county also had 22.7% of its total hospital beds available and 31.76% of its adult ICU beds available, according to AHCA. Florida's available percentages were 26.12% (hospital beds) and 19.52% (ICU beds).

The Florida Department of Health is not reporting how many people have recovered from COVID-19.
